Booking FAQs
We wanted more than just a single day together — we wanted a chance for all of our friends and family to gather, relax, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Many of our loved ones have young children, and we thought a destination wedding would give everyone a much-needed break to enjoy time together in a beautiful setting. Rather than a quick evening, this gives us several days to celebrate, reconnect, and share meals, laughter, and experiences with all of you.
Traveling has always been an important part of our lives, and we wanted to share that passion with everyone. A destination wedding allows us to combine our wedding celebration with a mini-vacation for our guests — something truly unique and unforgettable compared to a traditional wedding at home.
We hope this time together becomes a memory you will cherish as much as we will — full of sunsets, beach days, and special moments that can’t be replicated anywhere else.
We chose Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort, because it checks every box for our wedding and for our guests:
- Global trust of the Hilton brand — backed by a name known worldwide for consistency, service, and quality.
- Family-tested — our family has stayed here multiple times before and absolutely loved the food, the service, and the property. We know guests will feel the same.
- Cuisine variety — multiple restaurants, premium bars, and specialty dining options mean you’ll always have something new to try, from authentic Mexican flavors to international favorites.
- Resort experience — two infinity pools, private beach, a spa, fitness center, kids club, teens lounge, and daily entertainment ensure there’s something for everyone.
- Convenience — just 15–20 minutes from Cancún International Airport, so you’ll be poolside shortly after landing.
- Tripadvisor recognition — rated in the top 10% of all Cancún hotels, with excellent reviews highlighting food, staff, and amenities.
- Wedding perks — spa discounts, potential room upgrades (based on availability), and preferred group amenities for those in our room block.
In short: Hilton Cancun offers the perfect mix of luxury, convenience, and peace of mind for our wedding week.
Our room block is available from October 2–6, 2026. You can extend your stay up to 3 days before or 3 days after at the same preferred group rates listed above.
Our group rates are reserved for the first 10 rooms booked. After those rooms are reserved, rates will need to be re-quoted. Since the wedding is far in advance, rates will likely stay similar — but they may increase closer to the date.
A deposit equal to 1 night’s stay is required at the time of booking the room block. The remaining balance will be due 30–45 days before check-in.
Booking direct through our wedding room block helps us secure our wedding date with the hotel, but it also comes with real advantages for you:
- Lock in your rate early — No waiting until airlines release packages (10–12 months before travel). Your room is confirmed now, and your pricing is protected.
- Avoid dynamic pricing — Hotels and airlines use dynamic pricing: as rooms and seats fill up, prices increase. The earlier you book, the better your rate.
- Choose your own flights — Book flights later when the best seat sales appear, or use your own points/miles. You pick the carrier and timing that work best for you.
- Exclusive perks — Guests in our block can enjoy extras like spa discounts and potential room upgrades (based on availability).
- Guaranteed availability — Packages may have limited room types or sell out quickly. Our block guarantees space in the wedding window.
- Flexibility to extend — The room block is available Oct 2–6, 2026, with the option to add up to 3 days before or after at the same group rate.
Note: This has nothing to do with paying for the wedding itself — it’s simply the hotel’s requirement to hold our date, and a way for you to get added value.
There are two ways to book for the wedding: direct with the resort or as a flight + hotel package through a tour operator or online agency.
- Booking Direct: You lock in your room early, can choose flights separately (or use points/miles), and get access to our group perks like spa discounts and potential upgrades. Changes or issues are handled directly with the hotel or airline.
- Booking a Package: Packages bundle flights + hotel into one price. They often aren’t released until 10–12 months before travel and can look appealing, but there’s a major drawback: if something goes wrong (cancellations, delays, changes), the airline and hotel usually cannot help you directly. All modifications must go through the tour operator, which can slow things down and limit flexibility.
Room-only rates are fixed by the resort, while flight + hotel packages depend on airline pricing, schedules, and available promotions. Airline pricing can change daily based on demand, seat class, and seasonal factors, which is why packages may show different totals than booking direct.
Round-trip airfare from Toronto (YYZ) to Cancún (CUN) typically ranges from about $300–$450 CAD when booked early. Seat sales or using points/miles can sometimes bring it under $300. As flights fill up closer to departure, prices usually rise due to dynamic airline pricing.
If you’ve booked your room outside of our block (directly with Hilton, through a package, or another travel site), we still need your booking details so the hotel’s wedding coordinator can link your reservation to our wedding group. This ensures:
- You’re counted towards our wedding ceremony & reception as they need this to invoice us.
- You’ll receive all wedding-related updates and invitations during the stay.
Please provide your booking confirmation details when you RSVP, or email them to us directly so we can pass them to the coordinator.
Flight + hotel packages are usually not released until 10–12 months before travel, when airlines open their schedules and inventory to wholesalers.
- Air Canada – multiple flights per week (seasonal daily service)
- WestJet – multiple flights per week
- Sunwing Airlines – frequent seasonal service
- Transat (Air Transat) – multiple flights per week
Schedules and frequencies vary by season—most carriers increase service during fall and winter.
If you prefer to book your room and flights together, we’ve got you covered.
We are working with a dedicated travel agent who is familiar with our wedding and can access preferred pricing through:
- Air Canada Vacations
- WestJet Vacations
This ensures you’ll get options that are tied directly to our group dates and negotiated rates. The agent can provide package quotes, explain inclusions, and help with any modifications if needed.
Please reach out to Jordan or Emma and they can get you in touch.
